My work is a visual record of my life. People and places that have inspired me and shaped my life feature heavily in my paintings.
I paint in a semi-realistic style, drawing on influences from both the impressionist and realism movements. I predominantly paint in oils, finding this suits my style more that acrylics. My subject matter tends to focus on the norm, the everyday. Its my mission to find beauty in all that I see, even if its hard to find. |
I have lived in the southwest of England all my life, 40 years of it in west Somerset.
After a 25 year career working in the construction industry, I returned to education after a spell of ill health. I gained a Foundation degree at Somerset college before graduating from Weston college with a BA Honours degree in contemporary Art in 2016. I am married to Helen, and I am currently a stay at home father, caring for our autistic son Vincent. |
